2013 Polaris Pro RMK 800
48If you thought the 431lbs. of the 2012 Pro RMK was impressive the 2013 model will blow you away. Polaris took an already dominating sled and made it even better, one of the biggest factors? Making it 14lbs. lighter, having a sled that weighs in at 417lbs. dry will make a huge difference for any backcountry rider on those long days, digging the sled out, or just the overall feel of the machine.
Upgrades
Like I said before Polaris had an amazing sled for the 2012 season, almost any backcountry rider will tell you that. 2013 is going to be the third year for the PRO RMK, and I feel Polaris is going to make it a big one. The company finally recovered from the 900 fiasco that turned alot of people away from the brand. One thing that the engineers at Polaris did on the sled was made more of the infrastructure out of carbon fiber, this helps shed weight and give it a more rigid feel. Also new for 2013 was the low inertia drive system. This gets rid of the heavy chain drive and gives the sled quicker acceleration and more flickability because there is less rotating mass. Better running boards are also equipped, every rider knows what a pain it is to have to keep kicking the snow out, these are designed to stop that. The seat is new as well, five and a half inches shorter i believe which makes it much easier to swing ones leg behind the seat rather than over it, a feature I loved when I rode a Cat. The sled also has all the features of the 2012 Pros aswell. If anyone has ridden the 2013 Pro's please leave a comment below and let me know what you thought of them.
