2012 Polaris RZR XP 900 vs. 2012 Arctic Cat WildCat 1000
67The 2012 season is going to be interesting in the UTV category. With Can-Am and Polaris coming back with products better than ever, then we have Arctic Cat with the very promising looking Wild Cat.
Head-to-Head
Polaris introduced its first side x side back in 2007 and have been advancing ever since. The company started with the RZR which was a sportier version of the popular Ranger, then went to the RZR-S, and now finally the dominating RZR XP 900. The 900 boasts an impressive 88 H.P twin EFI engine and claims it has the quickest acceleration and best power to weight in its class. The Wild Cats HP is still just a bunch of rumors floating around, there is no number listed on the website, Arctic Cat is famous for this. What i have heard is the Wild Cat is only getting 67 HP to the ground. This would make the RZR the obvius winner if it wasnt for Arctic Cats amazing suspension that soaks up the bumps effortlessly giving the rider a much smoother ride. With this class leading suspension comes class leading ground clearance, 18'' in the rear compared to the RZR's 13". Both machines have all the cool features like LED lights and aluminum wheels, the WildCat even had automotive style paint so one can keep it looking new for years to come.
Winner?
Now I cant call a complete winner because these are both great machines for different uses. The RZR has more power and a better bottom end for the dunes, but the WildCat has a much better suspension for the rougher trails and jumps. It all comes down to what your looking to due with it, and what your willing to spend. I havent talked about one of the biggest factors of these two yet and thats price, the 2012 RZR XP 900 2 seater retails for $16,000, the 2012 Arctic Cat WildCat slightly more expensive at $16,600, but both models can go up considerably with accesories. The RZR is also available in a 4 seater as well. Please leave a comment as to your thoughts on the two machines. I provided links to both machines websites so you can check out all the features for yourself.

You know, Its kind of grown on people and I think you see it more in the young generations. Kids are always comparing Chevy, dodge and ford, and Polaris, ski-doo and cat. When really its an opinion, but there has to be a fact to it. my opinion is Polaris is number one, and always has. It will be till it proves me wrong and i mean wrong. So im just saying don't make the same mistake to many times, and waist money and when it proves you wrong, don't be scared to switch you opinion or your fav. There will always be some one on your side. If that makes any sense

Nice entertaining article and I like your ending. There is no clear winner because as you said they are meant for different purposes.
